PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY
And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all. (Ephesians 1:22-23)
The word of God reveals that the Church is the Body of Christ.
As the Body of Christ, the church has the blessed privilege and responsibility of manifesting our risen Lord to the community. The local assembly is indwelt and empowered by the Holy Spirit of God for this very reason, and it is this understanding and purpose that underlies and shapes our service for Him. Below are biblical principles upon which our ministry is based.
Reverent in Worship
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Philippians 3:3)
Fervent in Love
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:12)
Expository in Preaching
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. (2 Timothy 4:2)
Fundamental in Foundation
The church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. (1 Timothy 3:15)
Godly in Edification
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
Earnest in Evangelism
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:18-21)
Dedicated in Discipleship
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2)
